How to Silence Clicker Sounds and Error Messages in World of Warcraft

How to Silence Clicker Sounds and Error Messages (For ÖWC Clicker v1.0)

If you are using the initial version 1.0 of the ÖWC Clicker, you might be experiencing two minor annoyances: the loud, repetitive sound of keyboard clicks and red error messages flooding your chat window.

This happens because the game tries to play a sound for every simulated keypress and generates an error when a keybind action (like interacting with a target) isn’t available at that exact moment.

The good news is that this is very easy to fix! By following the two steps below, you can enjoy completely silent and error-free clicking.

Step 1: Eliminate the Red Error Messages

The red errors are suppressed by a dedicated addon. You need to install the excellent Oresund Error Suppress addon.

  1. Download the addon from its official page here:
Oresund Error Suppress – Tame the red text in World of Warcraft

  2. Unzip the downloaded file.

  3. Copy the unzipped folder (it should be named something like OresundErrorSuppress) into your World of Warcraft _retail_/Interface/AddOns directory.

  4. Restart the game client.

That’s it! This addon will silently suppress the UI error messages, leaving your chat log clean.

Step 2: Remove the Keyboard Click Sounds

The clicking noise is generated by the game’s sound files for keyboard presses. We can solve this by replacing those sound files with silent versions.

  1. Download our custom sound pack archive:
Download Silent Sound Pack from Yandex Disk

  2. Unzip the downloaded archive. You will get a folder named Sound.

  3. Copy this Sound folder and paste it directly into your main World of Warcraft _retail_ folder.

    • Important: You are not putting this in the Interface/AddOns folder. Place it in the high-level _retail_ folder, where the Wow.exe is located.

    • When asked to merge or replace files, confirm “Yes”.

This replaces the original keypress sound files with silent ones, effectively muting the clicker’s background noise.

Finalizing the Setup

After you have completed both steps, fully close and restart your World of Warcraft client. Once you log back in, your ÖWC Clicker should now operate silently and without any distracting red error messages.

A Note for the Future: Starting with version 1.1 of the ÖWC Clicker, this process will be semi-automated and handled with just a couple of button clicks within the clicker’s interface. For now, this manual setup is a simple and permanent solution for version 1.0 users.

Happy and silent clicking
