Tired of those constant red error messages cluttering your screen in World of Warcraft? “Not enough energy,” “You are too far away,” “Target is dead” – they flash, they make a sound, and they break your immersion. For users of the Öresund WOW Clicker (also seen as Oresund WoW Clicker or ÖWC) 1.0, these messages can be a particular nuisance during automated sequences.
Introducing Oresund Error Suppress, a lightweight and powerful addon designed to give you a clean and peaceful gaming experience. This addon completely suppresses all in-game red error messages, allowing you to focus on what truly matters.

Why Did We Create It?
Many players seek a way to remove these visual and audio clutters. We wanted to provide a straightforward and effective solution. Oresund Error Suppress is the “sledgehammer” approach. It doesn’t fiddle with complex configuration panels, whitelists, or blacklists. Instead, it simply and effectively turns off the entire system that displays these UI errors. It’s a robust, reliable solution that requires zero setup or maintenance, giving you instant peace and quiet.
A Standalone Solution & Part of the Future
While developed initially for the Öresund WOW Clicker suite, this addon works perfectly on its own. If you are not a clicker user but are simply looking for a way to suppress annoying in-game errors, you can download and use this addon independently.
For our current Öresund WOW Clicker 1.0 users, this is a manual enhancement you can add right now. We are excited to announce that in the upcoming ÖWC 1.1, the process of adding and removing this and other supporting addons will be fully automated and managed with a single click within the program itself.
Compatibility Note
This addon is truly universal and works with most, if not all, versions of the WoW client. While the game interface may flag it as “out of date” and suggest disabling or updating it, you can safely ignore these warnings. The addon performs its core function perfectly – error messages will stop appearing in both Wrath of the Lich King Classic and Dragonflight, as confirmed by the author’s testing immediately before writing this text.
Additionally, the solution to eliminate the background noise from numerous error messages has already been developed and will be implemented in the next version of ÖWC.
How to Install (Step-by-Step for Beginners)
Don’t worry if you’ve never installed a WoW addon before. It’s a simple process. The most important step is finding your correct AddOns folder.
-
Download: Click the link to download the OresundErrorSuppress.zip file.
-
Unzip: Locate the downloaded file on your computer. You will need to “extract” or “unzip” it. Most computers have built-in software for this (like “Extract All” in Windows). Right-click the file and choose “Extract All” or a similar option. This will create a new folder named OresundErrorSuppress.
-
Locate Your Addons Folder: This is the key step! The exact path can vary, so here are the best methods to find it:
Method 1: Using the Desktop Shortcut (Easiest)
-
Find the “World of Warcraft” shortcut icon on your desktop.
-
Right-click on the icon and select “Open file location”. This will directly open your main game folder.
-
If “Open file location” is not available, select “Properties”. In the window that opens, look at the “Target” field. The path shown there leads to the game’s executable file. Your AddOns folder will be in the same directory, typically at …\Interface\AddOns.
Method 2: Universal In-Game Method (100% Accurate)
-
Open the World of Warcraft game client.
-
At the character selection screen, click the “AddOns” button in the bottom-left corner.
-
This window shows you the full file path to your AddOns folder at the top. This is the most reliable way to confirm the correct location!
Understanding Different Game Versions:
-
Official Blizzard Version: The typical path is C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns.
-
Important Note: The _retail_ part might be different. For Wrath of the Lich King Classic, look for _classic_, and for Classic Era, look for _classic_era_.
-
Private Servers: If you play on a private server, the game is installed in a different folder, often named after the server itself (e.g., C:\Games\ServerName). In all cases, the folder structure is the same. You need to find the main game folder and then navigate to \Interface\AddOns within it. The methods described above (desktop shortcut or in-game button) will lead you to the correct location regardless of the server type.
-
-
Copy and Paste: Once you have found your AddOns folder, take the OresundErrorSuppress folder from Step 2 and copy it into this AddOns folder.
-
Done! The next time you launch World of Warcraft, the addon will be active. You will see a confirmation message in your chat log: “Oresund Error Suppress loaded – errors hidden.” No configuration is needed!
How to Remove the Addon
If you ever wish to see the error messages again, simply remove the addon:
-
Exit World of Warcraft completely.
-
Navigate back to your AddOns folder (using the guide above).
-
Find the OresundErrorSuppress folder and delete it.
-
When you restart the game, the error messages will return.
Enjoy a cleaner, quieter Azeroth with OresundErrorSuppress!
